One-Stop Shop for Information on Intelligence Community and Related Agencies
The United States Intelligence Community agencies and other associated agencies carry out intelligence-related tasks for the United States. Use the links below to peruse each agency’s website for information on their mission and careers with that specific agency, including both government and industry opportunities.
- Office of the Director of National Intelligence: The ODNI leads the Intelligence Community.
- National Security Agency (NSA): NSA is primarily responsible for signals intelligence (SIGINT) and cryptology.
- Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA): DIA was established to collect foreign military intelligence.
- National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA): NGA manages geospatial intelligence for defense purposes.
- Army Intelligence: The U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) conducts investigations for intelligence purposes.
- Air Force Intelligence: The Twenty-Fifth Air Force, formerly Air Force Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Agency, is the intelligence branch of the Air Force.
- U.S. Space Force Intelligence: The USSF was established in 2019. Its predecessor was the Air Force Space Command.
- Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI): ONI gathers intelligence about foreign naval technology and developments and collects strategic maritime intelligence.
- Marine Corps Intelligence Activity (MCIA): MCIA supports intelligence gathering in the Marine Corps.
- National Reconnaissance Office (NRO): NRO obtains and analyzes signals intelligence and imagery from spy satellites.
- Central Intelligence Agency (CIA): The CIA conducts clandestine operations and gathers intelligence in foreign countries.
- Federal Bureau of Investigation National Security Branch: The NSB integrates the FBI’s national security components.
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA): DEA gathers intelligence in support of its mission to enforce controlled drug laws and regulations.
- State Department Bureau of Intelligence and Research (INR): INR, part of the State Department, analyzes foreign events, public opinion, and media to inform foreign policy.
- Treasury Department Office of Intelligence and Analysis (OIA): The Treasury Department’s OIA provides intelligence and analysis related to financial transactions.
- Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of Intelligence & Analysis: DHS Office of Intelligence and Analysis is a conduit for sharing intelligence with state and local law enforcement.
- Coast Guard Intelligence and Criminal Investigations Enterprise: The USCG collects intelligence related to its mission to safeguard port facilities and conduct maritime law enforcement.
- Department of Energy Office of Intelligence and CounterIntelligence: The Department of Energy’s IN focuses on nuclear terrorism threats and nuclear nonproliferation.
This is very helpful to see a plethora of different agencies/tangential contractors hiring cleared professionals, but I would suggest adding the official career pages of the respective agencies. For example, DIA has https://diajobs.dia.mil/ which is specifically for jobs within the agency. A search on clearancejobs pulls up a bunch of contractors that work with DIA, but I couldn’t find any roles specifically there.
